The Desky Heavy Duty Single monitor arm will support monitors that weigh 11kg or more. This monitor arm will not work with monitors that weigh less than 11kg. A gas spring mechanism in the arm works as an adjustable counterbalance to the weight of the monitor for fluid and easy height adjustment. The tension of the arm needs to be adjusted to suit the weight of your monitor.
The Desky Heavy Duty Single monitor arm will fit any monitor that is compatible with 75mm or 100mm VESA mounts. The VESA mount supplied simply screws onto the back of compatible monitors and easily clips into the monitor arm so you can add or remove your monitor from the arm quickly and without tools.
We recommend this monitor arm for monitors up to 43" only. For larger ultrawide monitors please see our Ultrawide Monitor Arm that is designed for 49" and ultrawide monitors to handle the larger weight distribution around the tilt joint.
The Heavy Duty Single Monitor Arm has a clamp that can accommodate 50mm-thick desktops. It also comes with a "through desk" clamp that increases this to 60 mm.
If your monitor is within the weight range 11-20kg and will not stay in place once fitted to the monitor arm you will need to adjust the tension of the arm’s gas spring. This is an easy fix!
Use the included hex key to adjust the tension control screw on the arm toward the ‘+’ sign to increase tension if your monitor is falling from its set position, or adjust toward the ‘-‘ sign on the arm to reduce tension if your monitor is rising from its set position.
The Desky Heavy Duty Single monitor arm can be fitted to your desktop using the included desk clamp or by drilling a hole in the desktop and using the bolt-through mount to secure the arm directly to the desktop.
Yes! Our Heavy Duty Single monitor arm can be used with any desk so long as the desktop thickness is between 10-50mm, using either the desk clamp or bolt through desk installation.
The base of the Heavy Duty Monitor Arm will not move if bolt-mounted to the desktop or if the clamp is tightened correctly. However, it is not possible to fix the position of the arms in place or stop movement around the joints of the arm if knocked. The monitor tilt adjustment can be tightened so that its positon will not change if accidentally knocked.
No, this monitor arm will not be suitable. Even if you have a VESA adapter for your iMac this monitor arm requires a monitor weight of between 11-20kg. We do, however, have the Desky iMac Monitor Arm, that is specifically designed for iMacs.
