Should I use a Monitor Arm or Monitor Mount?

Monitor Arm
Monitor arms are perfect for sit stand desks as they allow the user the maximum flexibility of movement when optimising position. This means making adjustments to screen height when changing between sitting and standing is effortless, allowing you to maintain the correct posture at all times.

Monitor Mount
Monitor mounts are great for freeing up desk space and are often more economical than monitor arms. As they are locked in place with a clip during setup, however, it is not as easy to change your monitor position vertically. Although they can still be adjusted with some effort, this is why we generally recommend monitor arms for sit stand desks for easy adjustments of your monitor height.
Keep your space clean with Cable Management & Additional Connectivity
Keeping your desk space clean is easy with our cable management systems. Our monitor arms are fitted with internal cable management, so you can easily keep your workspace tangle-free, and our mounts come with custom clips to secure your wires safely.

How can I use my screen with a Monitor Arm?

Most monitors are mounted using a standardised system known as VESA. You can see this pattern in the mounting holes in the back of your monitor, which should be laid out in a 100mm square. All of our monitor arms and mounts, unless otherwise specified, use VESA mounting plates. As long as you can identify mounting holes on the back of your monitor that fit this pattern, you can be confident when buying a VESA mount.
If you check the back of your monitor and find your mounting holes are not arranged as described, your monitor may require an adaptor to be compatible with our products. You should check with your manufacturer. The only arms and mounts we sell that do not use VESA are those designed for use with iMac, which utilise a specialised clamp instead.
Should I buy a monitor arm? Are monitor arms worth it?
A monitor arm can help position your screen in the optimal viewing position. In order to prevent neck and back pain as well as eye strain from improper posture, purchasing a monitor arm is worth it and will help avoid future health issues. Monitor arms also work well with standing desks and allow quick adjustments of position, whether sitting or standing.
Are monitor arms universal? Do monitor arms work with any monitor?
The majority of monitors are mounted via a universal mount known as the VESA mount. Compare the pattern of mounting holes at the back of your monitor with the VESA mount and see if the pattern matches. All Desky monitor arms (unless specified) are designed to work with VESA mounts and are VESA-compatible.
However, some monitors such as iMacs, for example, do not use the VESA mount. We also sell an iMac monitor arm designed to work perfectly with the iMac.
How do I connect my monitor to my arm?
Most monitors can be connected to a monitor arm via a VESA mount. Check the back of your monitor as well as your monitor manual to see if your monitor is VESA-compatible. iMacs, for example, are not compatible with VESA mounts - purchase our iMac monitor arm if you have an iMac.
What are the best monitor arms?
